During the 20th century, floods were the number-one natural disaster in the U.S. in terms of the number of lives lost and property damage.

We must find ways to use water more efficiently by capturing floodwaters and building infrastructure.

“Anyone who can solve the problems of water will be worthy of two Nobel prizes – one for peace and one for science.”

- John F. Kennedy

We choose to build the NSWG

Vision

The National Freshwater Foundation will build the National Smart Water Grid. The National Smart Water Grid will capture floodwater above Actions Stage and decrease flooding along the Mississippi River and her tributaries and the other rivers along the gulf coast of Texas. The Foundation will carry its mission into future generations by developing partnerships with U.S. companies, U.S. states, and Indian nations to strengthen, preserve, and protect our nation’s most precious commodity and resource-water.

Mission

The National Freshwater Foundation is a non-profit entity that design, builds, operates, and maintains the National Smart Water Grid™ which achieves five goals: Capture, Divert, Transport, Treat, and Distribute.

Our Team.

We're proud of these members who volunteer and dedicate their time to contribute to a cause greater than themselves.

Overview

Our goal is to use sound engineering practices to develop solutions to problems like water shortages, habitat destruction, climate change, and provide new freshwater resources.

We conduct research, publish books and articles, recommend solutions, partner and work with decision makers, advocacy groups, and the public.

When evaluating environmental and conservation matters, we suggest that scientists, engineers, biologists and other researchers consider a "continental perspective". We see examples of a "continental perspective" in the seasonal and annual migratory patterns of many species throughout North America. We see examples of a "continental perspective" in the the seasonal and annual weather patterns, especially when viewing satellite images of storms and hurricanes. We see the need to evaluate water resources in many river basins across the United States including the Colorado and Mississippi River Basins as part of a "continental perspective". What happens in one river basin could have profound effects on other bodies of water. This bigger picture "continental perspective" approach should be added to the thought processes of environmental and conservation matters.

When evaluating socioeconomic causes and effects of a continental water program/project we suggest that researchers consider a "continental perspective". The National Smart Water Grid will have a huge positive impact to the North American continent including the United States and the Nations of Indigenous Peoples within its geographic boundaries. What is done in North American will affect each country, such that the United States has a profound effect on Canada and Mexico and vice versa.

We have much work to do. Please help the National Freshwater Foundation Save Water and Save Lives.

Principles

The Environmental Policy of the National Freshwater Foundation is to do no harm and have no adverse environmental impact. New freshwater supplies should result in a healthier country and biosphere. The intent of this NSWG project is to comply with environmental laws and permits.

Values

Develop new freshwater resources for America via partnerships with U.S. companies and government entities.
